Cash

I found this box set on the side of the road in a puddle.  I picked it up, knowing it was a fairly rare box set.  I worked in the B&N music department when it was released.  I didn’t have the money to buy it, and had accepted that I would never own it.  It’s probably one of my favorite box sets.  Incredible music, incredible heart, incredible good-bye from Mr. Cash.

Music drives me. This, is one of my top 5 faves.  What are your top five favorite albums. (Not musicians, but albums)

Yes. Box sets are acceptable.

Never mind my faves, but this brought memories of standing in my Grandma's living room…me on the brush, Grandma on the spoon, Johnny Cash in the 8 track player, ROCKIN OUT! Good times! Yes, I said 8 track……I'm old!

Johnny brings back memories for everyone! as we speak, “My Mother's Hymn Book” is importing to my iTunes. I love that I found this on the side of the road. In a puddle. Makes it so…. so much like Johnny…

These are albums I could listen to over and over, straight through, without forwarding through anything and without ever really getting tired of them. (That said, ask me another day and you might get another answer — “favorite” is pretty fluid for me!)

Apollo 18 by They Might Be Giants
Long Fall Back to Earth by Jars of Clay
    Wish by The Cure
    Gabe Dixon Band (self-titled)
    Chorus by Erasure

I was working in Florida about 5 yrs ago, hadn't been to church in about 6 months. My roomate and I picked up a bucket of KFC & grabbed the Mother's Hymnbook cd from Best Buy. We spent the next couple hours in my truck playing this album over and over. One of the best nights I've ever had. Friends, music, food, remembering Jesus again.
